With a successful first weekend in the Porsche Sprint Challenge USA West program, Black Sheep Racing is ready to hunt for additional podium results this weekend at the famed Sonoma Raceway. Entering a trio of competitors, the team will be looking to build upon their double podium performance less than two weeks ago.
“As we look to build our program and partnership base, we also need to stay full throttle in the hopes of obtaining additional race wins and podium results,” explained Marketing Liaison Chris Stiffler. “We had a good opening weekend in the 991 class, but we can’t let up now and we need to continue to push as a team.”
Piloting the Black Sheep Racing Porsche entries will be Laguna Seca podium winner Laura Ely in the #09 entry alongside Steve Ayers in the #30. Kenton King, who scored Black Sheep Racing’s first podium finish of the season, will drive the #777 as all three competitors will look to stand on the podium.
“Two podium results in the first weekend is great, but we want more,” added Team Owner and driver Laura Ely. “Sonoma is one of those tracks that everyone enjoys, but we look to have our enjoyment by winning this weekend.”
Racing alongside the SRO Motorsports Group class lineup, the Sonoma Raceway event will feature a jam-packed schedule beginning on Friday with a pair of practice sessions. Saturday will be the home of qualifying and the first wheel-to-wheel racing of the weekend while Sunday will see the green flag fly for race two of the weekend and round four of the series.
