Ready to tackle the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Porsche Sports Car Together Fest, Black Sheep Racing (BSR) will travel to the Midwest and the Holy Grail of motorsports facilities. With two drivers flying the BSR colors, Laura Ely and Stephen Ayers will fight for race wins and podium results this coming weekend at the next round of the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America program.
With six of eight event weekends counting towards the end of the year championship point standings, Stephen Ayers will utilize the Indy event as a race to try and better set himself up in the points battle. Missing an event earlier in the season, Ayers will use Indy as a makeup event as he looks for maximum points.
Laura Ely will also compete in Indianapolis as well, but she will be racing for the win as she looks to add to her growing results resume in the 2022 season. Already in a solid championship position, Ely’s goal will not only assist with car setup and team support but also battle her way to the front of the field and gain additional momentum in her effort and the run towards the end of the year.
“Unfortunately, I was forced to miss the VIR event and with six of eight race weekends counting towards the championship, Indianapolis is my opportunity to make it up,” explained Ayers. “We will be competing on the road course, and I am confident we can be in a position to battle for a podium result when the checkered flag flies.”
“I love racing and when you have the opportunity to race at Indy, you do it,” added Ely. “We will be racing hard to see what we can do but also have the chance to test some different setups and complete some Research and Development work that we normally would not do on a point chasing race weekend.”
Set to hit the track on Friday for a pair of practice sessions at the Porsche Sports Car Together Fest, both Ayers and Ely will put their Porsche 991 machines through the paces as they get up to speed. Saturday morning will be the home for qualifying with the first wheel-to-wheel race taking place that afternoon while race two of the weekend will roll off the grid on Sunday.
